Boatsman Island | Handmade Miniature Island | Mixed-media artwork | Diorama | Houses | Boats | Village | Medieval
The islanders pulled their boats ashore and returned to their cosy homes.
Soon there will be smoke coming out of the chimneys and kids will be getting
buckets filled with water from the well and bringing them back home.
It's a peaceful place, this Boatsman-Island. And when the sun goes down the people gather in the inn, for a drink and a dance before they go to sleep...
Boatsman-Island is a brand new handmade miniature island.
It's slightly taller than most islands I've made until now.
But the therefor I could add even more details to this little scenery.
It's the perfect island to combine both earth tones and bit of medieval influences with.
While making it, little challenges came up, like making the tiny sign for the island inn.
I never intended to make a well in the middle of the island, but the empty spot was just perfect for it.
I've added some details of my own, like the little shed on the poles. Not really necessary but it made the island just a little more authentic.
